My Favorite Things...

This time of year always brings to my mind the song, 'My Favorite Things.' Caden has recently developed many new interests (none of which are toys, by the way) and so I thought I would share some of Caden's favorite things.

Electrical Cords (especially when attached to Christmas Trees). Why do my parents buy all of those brightly colored plastic things when there are plenty of electrical cords around the house?

Playing the Piano (ok, this one I love...he is definitely going to be a concert pianist-despite what Tom says). He could play the same few notes over and over and over for hours... I still love it!

Pushing shampoo bottles into the bathtub. Do all kids do this? It definitely caught me off guard, but apparently he sees no reason for shampoo bottles to be on the edge, maybe it looks cleaner when they are in the tub.

Pretty much anything in the bathroom. I hope its not because his mom spends to much time in this room.... Hey, you can see Tom's excellent tile job in this picture. That was my mother's day present...he finished it last week.

Lastly, of course, is Mommy. We have so much fun together! Don't you love those ears? Dad isn't so bad, but Mom writes the blog...

Ward Christmas Party

I, like many of you, am a big fan of Ward Christmas parties. You pick a small committee, have them put in dozens of hours of work, invite the entire neighborhood for a two hour gathering that always starts late, includes not-so-hot food, and the ever important visit from Santa Clause. What's not to love? So last year, Tom and I were asked to decorate the Santa area. We enlisted his very talented mother who pretty much threw it all together. It was a hit. So this year they asked us to be in charge of ALL of the decorations. We spent the entire day last saturday decorating. Everyone came up to me and said, "if you do this good of a job, you know you're going to have to keep doing it." Blah! I feel like the only way to get out of this is to move out of the ward... any other ideas?
Since our decorations were all torn down in a matter of minutes, this is the only picture we were able to get. However, Caden did actually sit on Santa's lap so hopefully I will get that picture soon. Sorry to vent... I am not complaining, just inquiring.

My little crawling monster!

Well, Caden is officially crawling! I am not sure why this new found mobility has caused him to want everything that he cannot have, but he is definitely a little mischevious! The following quotes will reveal why I would label this adorable child...monster.

" Mom, I hope you weren't ever planning on wearing your sunglasses again. Not only am I going to break them, but I am going to peel all of the decorations off of them and put them in my mouth! "

" Here I come... Crazy Caderbugs on the prowl! You'd better watch out because I have that camera in my sights..."

"You can't hide from me Mommy...I can get around any piece of furniture!"

"What? How could you get mad at me...I am so darn cute!"

The Cutest Baby Ever!

So, I have heard people say that all people do on their blogs is brag about their kids... well, I am going to embrace the stereotype and let you know that I have the cutest kid ever! Seriously, I don't know where he got it from (I guess his dad is pretty cute) but just take a look at these family pictures...that's right, I definitely have bragging rights!

Does the jelly roll around the stomach ever go away after pregnancy? I am totally wearing 4 inch heels, I wish I was that tall!

I love this one. Tom doesn't even have to fake the face, he is really that proud of his little boy.

This is Tom's favorite picture. I am not a fan, but I decided to post it out of respect to my wonderful husband. He really is a great husband and father...

This is my favorite picture. I love Caden's face...seriously folks, have you ever seen anything cuter than that?!

I put this picture up because it looks like Caden is flipping the camera off (zooming in reveals that he is not...he has never seen that gesture coming from me...) and he looks really mad. I don't know if you can tell, but it is hilarious!

The scariest purple monster...

This is Caden observing the incredible artistic talents of his cousins. Oh what he would have given to get his hands on some of that orange goop! I assure you it would have gone straight into the mouth.

This is the awesome pumpkin that Tom picked out. Unfortunately it was stolen from our porch and Tom never got to carve it. (I wasn't too sad about it since I would've had to clean up the mess!) Caden is really happy because he is sitting on the table and he gets to play with the biggest ball he has ever seen!

Now comes the scariest purple monster you have ever seen! (It's the one on the left in case you were confused) I love that Caden's eyes are almost as big as the costume's eyes.

Of course when he is with his mommy, he can only smile.

When will he learn?

I love my child very much, but he doesn't seem to learn from his experiences. For example, Caden loves to be outside and he loves to pick the grass and play with the leaves. Inevitably, he always puts these items in his mouth. This has never gone well for him. He always makes some version of the face above. So I simply throw this question out to the universe...when will he learn?

Breaking Out!

After much thought, I have decided to start a blog just about my little family. (no offense to the Hullabaloo clan but it was bound to happen eventually) So fear not, the title of this post is in no way related to acne (although it wouldn't be too far from the truth) we are simply breaking out our new blog! Welcome!
We haven't taken a 'real' family picture because I am still under the illusion that I am going to lose this weight eventually. So this is us hiking in St.George...and thats my sister-in-law, Shannan!
